I. Product Introduction

Ferroaluminum (FeAl) is a ferroalloy consisting of iron and aluminum.The metal typically contains 40% to 60% aluminum.Ferroaluminum can also be supplied with varying aluminum content ranges, including 8–10% Al, 14–16% Al, 20–23% Al, 35–40% Al, or 45–50% Al.

The presence of iron in aluminum helps decrease casting defects, improves tensile strength, yield strength, hardness, and maintains strength at high temperatures.Ferroaluminum has a melting point ranging from 1160°C to 1250°C, depending on the aluminum content (1160°C at 60% Al; 1250°C at 40% Al).

Traditional steelmaking uses aluminum cakes or ingots directly added to molten steel, which is not only costly but also results in 70%–90% aluminum oxidation loss due to air and slag. Using ferroaluminum for deoxidation offers significant advantages: low burn-off, high recovery rate, and the ability to refine grain structure and improve steel impact toughness—making it an ideal choice for improving steel quality while reducing costs.

The first recorded usage of the word "ferroaluminum" was in 1887.
