Ferrochromium (Ferrochrome) Product Introduction

I. Product Overview

Ferrochromium is a master alloy of iron and chromium with a minimum chromium content of 45.0% and a maximum of 95.0% by mass, obtained by reduction from the corresponding raw materials. Chromium is chemically stable and highly corrosion-resistant, making ferrochromium widely used in metallurgy, chemical engineering, cast iron, refractories, and high-tech applications.

Based on carbon content, ferrochromium is classified into the following categories: High Carbon Ferrochromium (carbon 4%~10%), Medium Carbon Ferrochromium (carbon 0.5%~4%), Low Carbon Ferrochromium (carbon 0.15%~0.50%), and Extra-Low Carbon Ferrochromium (carbon ≤0.06%). The chromium content of ferrochromium generally ranges from 55% to 75%.

Notes:
The manganese content of each batch of high carbon ferrochromium shall be analyzed by the supplier.
Medium and low carbon ferrochromium is assessed on a basis of 60% chromium content, while high carbon ferrochromium is assessed on a basis of 50% chromium content.
Chromium, silicon, carbon, and phosphorus content must be determined for each batch of ferrochromium.
The above data are referenced to GB/T 5683-2024. Specific indicators can be adjusted according to customer requirements.
